The Colt M4 Carbine Extractor Spring is the TDP/Milspec Spring for your AR15.
Most AR15 BCG’s on the market come with a cheap Extractor Spring. It’s evident when a Manufacturer uses the Spring, Insert, AND an O Ring. Good Extractor Springs don’t need the O Ring.
This Spring does NOT come with the Black Insert (Buffer). Reuse your original Insert when installing this Spring. Be sure to check your Insert to make sure it has “give” and is not hard. DO NOT use an O Ring with this Extractor Spring.
There are two Extractor Springs that School of the American Rifle uses. 1) Sprinco, and 2) Colt. The Sprinco is made of chrome silicone and last a very long time, but it’s not optimal for wet/humid environments. The Colt does not have the service life of a Sprinco but is more corrosion resistant.
DO NOT force this Spring into the Extractor Spring Pocket, you will damage it. Your Spring Pocket should be .158 to fit this Spring.
